For Lam and co. Open letter

Lee,

Can we please have a section for people that only want "offers" for their equipment or have a rule that people MUST list with a price or the thread will be deleted?

This type of rule works very well indeed on QRZ.COM

There is overwhelming support for this.

Thank you.

Oh my God!!!

Haway man for Gods sake Lee . if only to stop people moaning on on about such trivia :) !!!!

Please post your comments Lee and your take on this subject and make a ruling once and for all.

Is it OK for people to invite offers in the For Sale section or not??

What is your stance???

Personally speaking I could not care less and just ignore those adverts .

What does annoy me is people constantly harping on about such matters, so maybe your stance on the whole affair may do the trick one way or another, either stop the old "offers invited" or shut the faction up who are moaning and groaning and constantly griping about it, they annoy me more than the Offers adverts!!!

:)

I agree....................

I also agree that it should be compulsory for a price to be put on anything being offered for sale!

Thanks for the comment Ian

I am getting very tired of emailing people with offers, getting no reply, and people then wonder why I go on about it.

If I want to make offers then I go to ebay, which is where I will now go to make "offers" i.e. bids. People surely know what a piece of equipment is worth, without having to resort to "offers" etc. There is no problem in making an offer to someone where a price is listed, however at least you know where to start. A bit like a reserve price on ebay.

There is also the fact that people are constantly bumping the same rubbish over and over again and wondering why this rubbish is not being sold. Ross? :D

I heartily agree on this... its not ebay, if you have something for "sale" you have a price in mind.

Failing that, how about "half assed ebay" forum ?

"FA Yaesu 2m FM radio (1 week thread)"

"I offer £25"

"Ill up that to £30"

At the end of the week, best offer takes it !

This is NOT aimed at anyone in particular, however it make me very angry when i see some of the posts that were sent in reply.

Do people actually read what has been written or do they reply without having read the original post? I sign of sheer stupidity!

I simply made a statement that there is OVERWHELMING support for this. I am not interested in personal comments on how people feel or do not feel about what I have said.

The fact is, that most people here would prefer to have a price listed on a for sale site.

The only people that seem to be moaning on this thread are the people replying with negative comments.

Sorry to offend

But you are the one who is complaining, not me.
I am only suggesting if you like the way QRZ.com runs stick with it. If you dont like the way this site runs then dont use it.

no need to be rude

Regards
Alan

PS dont bother responding as I can see I have upset you an do not wish to enter a pointless argument

I dont see what the problem is. As most have said even if price is posted they still make an offer.
Get over it ffs.

a very good idea if the prices were right!
but they are not. i still cant find another hobby where 60% to 90% of rrp for used items (some as old as god) is the norm. think of it like the housing market. this too will burst and a more pleasant reality will prevale.
