Yep would imagine a quick advert either on here on in the local addtrader at £150 will do the trick, may get slightly more from the 11 mtr society if they are not 100% up to date on current s/h prices !!!

Then what sort off price would you yourself put on it mate ?? bearing in mind the age off the radio itself, the major problem off getting spares if certain parts do fail and the current prices off some off the much more modern stuff available.

agrea £150 does sound cheap for a radio off this sorts especially when you see Ham jumbos on ebay going for almost double this !! but again certainly within the used amateur radio market then around £150 is what the ft757gx is fetching these days. purchased an ft100d ( hf / vhf/uhf )myself boxed for £180 just last year.

buy yep stick it on ebay and let the 11mtr brigade fight over it am sure its still a saught after set especially with its general coverage tx-rx features !!

YAESU FT757

Well whats it worth, My mate had one until recently, and I replaced the photo encoder unit in it, because VFO k**b was not doing its job,now 100% and also replaced the bulbs in the S meter unit, recently he part exchanged it for a newer FT840 at the blackpool rally, with Radio World, He gave him £220 for it against the FT840 which is mint, so I guess your very lowest price should be around £200- 225, more if your lucky, it depends what poeple want on the day.

£225 plus for an FT757GX MK1 ??

if thats what Radioworld gave him for it would have hate to have seen what they Tried selling it for ??!! :D

f

sorry mate but trade in prices have nothing to do with the real world I think we all know that, if you dont belive me try phoning any off the top traders and ask what they could offer you on your set, then come back and tell me thats what the set is worth in the real world !!

it obviously suited Radioworld to do this deal that you quote hence there very good trade in price.

at the end off the day I am not saying the set is not worth more than £150 its just that this is what they generally go for, just the other day I seen another set off this era the ts430s go for £150, have myself purchased an ft757gx for more than this - £15 more to be exact !! paid £165 for one at the start off last year for it. if buyers are prepared to pay more than thats great for the seller :) an as we have both agread on stick it on ebay and I am sure it will fetch more.

quick update - just checked Radioworlds advert in this months PW mag - ft757gx mk1 £ £285, not bad but bearing in mind the same company are looking for £150 for an old ft290r and its common knowledge that these go for £50-£60 ?? they are also looking for £899 for an ft920 which go for anything from £470 upwards ??

to be fair thou remember these sellers do give a warranty ( 3 months ?? ) which obviously the seller off the ft757gx which this thread relates to obviously does not !! if this is worth the extra dosh then that is obviously up to the buyer to decide
