i have fairly recently sold around £1300 of trancievers to other junksale users, along the way i have been let down on numerous occasions, however i would not use this site to lay into the guilty partys. anyone is entitled to change thier minds as long as no money has been sent or received. unfortunatly i have had to do this myself but it certainly doesnt make me a criminal. ptt has been hard done by but can we all keep a sense of perspective. john 2e0msd
I agree John, i meen how many times has someone said that they will buy a radio from you and then not follw through, im sure in that event you dont get all hot under the collar!

If you say youre selling a radio - you sell it. Dont back down, without due consideration. How would anyone like it.
Rob RCS has acted in a way not becoming of his fellow operators and for the Junksale website.
He has to be named and shamed as he only does the same to others.
A deal is a deal, and to let someone believe they have a deal and then to let them down in the way you did calls for this type of thread to show your way of doing business.
I have let people down in the past myself and have been shamed and I accepted it and corrected it.
Rob needs to do the same.

Rob(PTT) just stick an image of your itemized billing on the forum when it arrives and you can show any one doubting you to eat their words.
It would have been much better had the offending party just stuck their hands up and said "sorry", rather than dropping themself further in the mire and denying conversations and arrangements.
PTT your integrity is totally intact as far as I am concerned and I would not hesitate to deal with you in the future and I would recomened you to anyone I know as a reliable and trustworthy bloke who is true to their word, a rare attribute nowadays. :)
I think the support that you have received confirms this.
Anyway I hope you get sorted out with the rig your after in the near future.

well it wasnt my intention to get the whole thing going again, in my case i realized i would need to spend more money to use the item i intended to buy, which with a kiddy on the way i didnt have. i offered a sincere apology that i think was accepted and moved on. hopefully rob and ptt can also move on too.

Its not the first time that Rob Jones G7IGB has done this, he had promised to call to me to purchase a power supply back in March 2008 and after two phone calls to him I gave up, and he never turned up after saying he would.
Since that occasion I have kept well away from him and do not wish to do business with this man again. Im sure Im not the only one, and maybe he will take this thread as a learning point in future.
Im disgusted that he has continued this way of dealing with people again so soon after. Its a shame Mr Jones you have no consideration for the fellow ham operators who share this hobby with you but who certaintly do not share your attitude.
Im happy that you have been shown to be someone who says one thing and expresses another so others wont fall for it in future.

ok ian, fair comment. i made a sweeping statement.
if i think back i can place myself in your position where the genuine people ive met have been honest and reliable.
the statement i made refers to the timewasters and broken promises that im sure many have suffered. i myself have encountered more than a few dreamers on here and im sure that i will encounter some more before i end my days.
im not doubting the integrity of anyone involved directly or indirectly with this thread (well except for one). all i would say is that its a bit out of hand considering that no damage has been done and all that is hurting is a bit of pride.
im sure a thousand deals have fell through on here and other sites, but this is the only thread i can remember with such intent on destroying the credibility of one person. including a couple of contributions from a once banned and well known dodgy dealer.
anyway, hope that clears away any fog from my own comments:)
