I hear these sets can be a pig to set up and you have to study the handbook in order to get them working half reasonably.

Perhaps the money is to cover all the time on the telephone talking people through the setup. :D

playing with fire

i think lee is playing with fire , imagine a guy buying a radio from lee with out a warranty witch i belive is ilegal please correct me if im wrong and after a few hour the guy finds a fault ,phones lee and lee says no warranty no refound and then gets s**gged off.
or says bring it back for a full refound witch is defeating the object.

seems very dodgey ground could end in tears .

Dont know really maybe Lee is maybe he isnt - that said the customer could always buy a warranty.

But lets be right Lee cannot do right for doing wrong - whichever way they go they will be wrong.

There are many nooks and cranies in the retail business - i know i worked in retail for many many years.
