yaesu FL2100B help please.

could anyone please help me or advise me on my yaesu fl2100b amplifier.
i bought a fl2100b that had 2 tubes in it and the were lighting up when i turned on the amp.
so i connected the amp to my icom-735 radio via a special cable adapted to work with the fl2100b.

but when i key up i can hear the relay click, which is fine.but the problem is theres no outputt power coming from the amp.i noticed my amp got very hot, then i noticed there was no power in the amp.so i checked the fuse in the plug and changed the fuse.so i powered back on the amp to discover there was only one tube lighting up.

then i bought 2 new matched 572B tubes for my fl2100b amp,the tubes light up,but still the problem of no wattage output power from the amplifier even with my icom-735 running 20 and 50 watts in to amp theres no wattage output power coming from the fl2100b amp.

i bought the amp at a radio rally.but i don,t know much about amplifiers.
would you have any idea what might be the problem?,would appreciate any help or advice you give me thanks.

Re: FL2100 amplifier

Have you tuned it? Did you get a manual with it. Google "Manual Yaesu fl2100b amplifier", and the first entry on the screen should be a link to download a manual from Rigpix.

Try following the tuning instructions in the manual, which should be a help.

yes i have tryed tuning it,but thats the point you cannot tune it as it shows no life of output wattage.

and i have,nt messed with the amp,as you have to open it up for the high voltage to kill you.

here is some stuff dedicated to your amp.
http://foxtango.org/amplifiers/FL%20Amplifier%20Evolution.htm
there is a problem with bandswitches on them.
Has it got HT
Have you tried it into a dummy load and tried to plate and load.
The tubes may light up but that only proves the heaters.

hi the band switches on mine seem fine,no not tried it in to a dummyload, but if its not outputting wattage power with the icom transceiver connected it up to it,well then its not gonna do much either way through a dummyload.

when you say has it got HT,what you mean by HT?.

re amp

have you connected up the ptt line on the amp to the rig if not the relay will not switch so no rf gets out there is no rf sensor in the amp and it needs to be ptted by the rig if you have dune this then you need to check band switch or rf relay and the decoupling caps and make sure your getting the ht and bios if it had blown valve in it what did they do or what was wrong with it for them to sell it
