Yaesu Modular Mic Plug to 8 Pin type

I currently have a MH-31 hand mic on my FT-847, does anyone know if the MH-48 DTMF mics work on this radio?

If they do work, the MH-48 I have currently has a modular plug on it and I wonder if anyone knows the colour coding for it to be fitted to the standard 8 pin mic plug please.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi,

Could you not get the pin out of the mic socket on each radio that the microphones are designed/wired for the then work the wiring out from there if you get mt drift.

You would download the manual for each of the relevant radios that the microphones work on and the will have the pinout of each socket type.

Work it out by pin number and not colour.

This site lists both mics and pinouts

No problem , i have had a google around and can not find a pin out anywhere.

They are all for the other way putting an 8 pin mic on a rj socket radio.

Goodluck.

Looks like one has 8 wires and the other only has 6, so I guess that means they are not compatible!!

Thanks for the info though guys!!

PIN 2 + 5 VOLTS
PIN 3 DOWN

Yeah, I knew there was one out there but the reason for the initial query was that I had a spare DTMF mic and wondered if I could rewire it, dont really want to spend cash on a new one!!

Thanks for all your help though, very much appreciated!;)
