Poorly Ft1000mp

Hi all
could i please ask readers of the forum for there advice on the best way to get my radio repaired , where is best ? im not nessacerally after the cheapest repair but i dont want to be ripped off either .
When i send my radio off for repair im at the perrill of trusting who im sending it to ,ive Heard good Reports of castle electronics and also Martin Lynch can anyone help me out with there experiences if any ..

ps(( i know its going to be expensive ))

I had a Kenwood TS850 repaired at Castle Electronics and I can recommend them. Their hourly rate is not cheap but they put the radio right again. I got an invoice showing exactly what parts had been replaced and how many hours where spent on the repair. The parts cost a few quid, its the labour charges that are the big hit in the wallet, but I recon you pay for what you get.

great didnt know lams did repairs .. ok well i will start ringing the numbers tommorow any more info will be appreciated

Castle Electronics are good but not cheap.Whats the problem with it maybe we could help..

Here goes ..

on boot up the main vfo flashes ..

this happend a couple of weeks ago after the radio got a slight knock ... i must say it was very slight ... i took the top and bottom covers off the case refitted them and all was well untill Friday ... came back into the shack and the vfo display was just flashing at me. ive reset rebooted taken battery out all the usual but nothing want to clear it ... i must say the last tine this happend i touched the top case i heard a click and it burst into life ,, this makes me think that it is somthing small but im not sure ????

Ribbon wire possible oxidised connection.
Take it you have jiggled those ribbon wires about.

i Rang Geoff from Castle electronics on Monday morning im taking the radio to him on Saturday morning .

My radio is back and working brilliantly ,
brilliant service from castle ,,
any my love is back in the shack i got a full allignment done and service as well as the repair took 10 days but well worth the wait

happy days :p :p :p
